Ah, the beach.  Actually us Tripst3r folks are heading out in July after launch here this Friday.  We will need the relaxation!  Post tips here!

Anyone have tips for mission beach?

–Mission beach is actually a great location to head out to.  It is pretty much a surfer town with small shops and restaurants.  It is tons of fun to head off to the pier, watch the waves, and watch the surfers.  There is an excellent Deli right near the pier, the name escapes me, but it is an excellent place for lunch.

Coronado Island–

Coronado is a wonderful locale to head out to, just off the coast of San Diego.  The weather is beautiful, and the beaches are extremely wide.  The beach at the Hotel Del Coronado is not to be missed!  It is truly fantastic.  If you walk on the beach, you can turn around and get that”post card” style picture with the magnificent Hotel Del in the background.  There are tons of restaurants along Orange AVE–the Rhinoceros Restaurant is excellent (mid-level to high end).  If you are looking for Pizza head out to Village Pizzaria–the best Pizza on the island.

Also, if you are staying on the island, a car is not fully necessary.  You can walk and or rent Bikes to get you all around.
