San Francisco
San Francisco offers plenty for everyone who visits. The city has numerous districts. China Town is a great place to take the family; there is plenty to look at and all types of shops for block after block. If you are into the Grateful Dead and the San Francisco 60’s hippy movement Haight and Ashbury is a destination not to miss on your trip. If you’re in your twenties the Marina district and Russian Hill (on Polk street) offers dozens of bars and has great nightlife. Polk Street also has lots of restaurants. Nicks Crispy Tacos is a fun place to go on a Friday or Saturday night. Polkers Gourmet Burgers is also a good greasy spoon type hamburger restaurant that has great food and is inexpensive.
If you come through town during baseball season a Giants game can be a fun event for a few hours. There is no shortage of scalpers and it is easy to grab tickets for as low as $10.00. Another great event during the day is to head over the golden gate bridge and go see Muir woods. The Muir woods are home to the trees that tower hundreds of feet above and are as wide as a car. It is $5 to get into the park (kids are free) and there is a large path that goes for a few miles into the park through the giant trees.
